The environment

The common thought about America is that they are one of the biggest pollutors in the world.
In my opinion they still are...
When I arrived 4 months ago I had to adapt a lot to their "ecological thinking".
They don't recycle at all, everything goes together in one plastic bag: glass, metal, paper, plastic, grass,... Luckelly we adapt to our living environment otherwise I would have become crazy with their different habits of living. It was not only the environment, we had to adapt as well to other things such as the driving rules (you can turn right even when it's red), peoples mentality (they're alway's friendly but sometimes it's fake) and the tought of "bigger is better. After a while, if you get used to live with all the new things live in the USA is beautiful.

BUT as you can see on the pictures, they do some efforts for green energy and the environment.
Next to the highway on our way to Los Angeles there were over a 1000 or more windturbines.
Also in the Universal studio's park they had about 90 huge solar panels... it's not much but you have to start somewhere isn't it?!
And what you see as well over here are a lot of hybride vehicles (Toyota Pruis, Honde Insight,...)
the roads are stuffed with 4x4 and big trucks but in between there are compared to Europe a lot of "green cars" as well.

This weekend my parents come over for 10 days and I'll be visiting the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley and Mesa Verde.

Have a great weekend y'all!

Something ironic: polluting aviation vs. green car.
